Anand Shah is a social entrepreneur who is associated with many socially driven entrepreneurial initiatives like Indicorps, Sarvajal, Teach for India and the Piramal Foundation. Anand believes in giving back to the society more than one takes from it, and so it has been fourteen years since when he has been dedicatedly and tirelessly working as an innovative social entrepreneur. After doing his graduation from the Harvard University in 1999, Anand worked as a teacher and was the Technology Director in Boston at the Match Charter School. In 2001, he founded Indicorps, a social organization that hosts hundreds of talented individuals from around the world who are keen on working for the development of India.
Two of his sisters and many of his friends supported him in this venture of his, where he currently works as a manager of overall programs and strategies. Anand is also one of the four founders of Sarvajal, a non-profit organization that was established in the year 2008 with the intention of providing rural Indian villages with reverse osmosis filtered; clean drinking water for better health and sanitation all across the country. He is the Chief Executive Officer of the Piramal Foundation that is a private organization focussed on developing the country’s social infrastructure to assist the youth of the nation in contributing to India’s progress. According to Anand, India is bestowed with talented individuals who are willing to solve the social problems of the country.
He believes that with the right approach and guidance, we can together change the face of the future of our nation and of the world too. It is his high aspirations and beliefs that help Anand in continuously working towards the overall growth and development of the country. With Indicorps, he brought forward for the first time in the history of India, a legitimate organization whose goal was to give back to the society more than what had been taken away from it. Besides the various social ventures that Anand is a part of, he is also an academic strategy consultant for the project on the upcoming Vedanta University.
It is an extensive $1billion program sourced from an Indian businessman. Anand is also one of the members of the core team associated with building the Teach for India Foundation that is a continuously growing social entrepreneurship venture based on the principle of promoting education in India. He is also an active member of the young think tank associated with the Club of Rome, namely tt30. Not only this, but Anand also serves as one of the members of the international board of KaosPilots, which is a school of social innovation and creative business design, based in Europe.
