Sarah Jacob is a popular Indian journalist and new editor. She was the face of the popular NDTV 24x7 show, 'We The People'. Sarah was born on 8 August 1984 in Kerala but grew up in various big cities as her father was in the army. She did her schooling at St. Mary's School from 1995 to 1999. She went on to take humanities as her subject in 11th and 12th as she was an avid reader. When Sarah was in her 12th grade, Lady Shri Ram College for Women introduced the journalism program as a part of their curriculum and she was amongst those 18 students who passed the entrance test for this course.

She then graduated in journalism from Lady Shri Ram College of the University of Delhi in 2002. After this, she started working for NDTV while also pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Communications Media (2002-2003). In 2005, she received a full scholarship and completed her Master in Science of Broadcast and Documentary Journalism. Meanwhile, she was awarded the Sidney Gross Award for Enterprising Journalism.

Initially, when she was working for NDTV, she covered areas like crime, education and health. In 2005, she started working as US Bureau Chief in New York, USA with NDTV. While in this position, she covered two presidential elections, the first in 2008 and the second in 2012 and also became one of the first Indian journalists to visit Guantanamo Bay. She also covered the Oscars on the red carpet. Not only this, she reported stories from the Indo-US nuclear deal, the US Open and G 2020thummit.

She has interviewed several famous personalities like Salman Rushdie, Bill Gates and Evan Williams. In 2013, she returned to India and started working as an anchor for shows like NewsFirst@10 and Crime and the City. After that, she worked as an anchor and producer on a weekly show named 'We The People'. This show focused on highlighting the pertinent political as well as social issues faced by people daily. However, after working with NDTV for 20 years, she resigned from her post on 22 May 2023. She got married to Pawan Ahluwalia, founder and managing director of Laburnum Capital on 28 March 2013.
