Debashis Remy Dalai was raised in Africa, Europe, and India. He was born in Paris, France. In India, where he completed his BA in Journalism and Mass Communication, he first became interested in the visual elements of cinema. He continued to pursue his love of the arts by earning his master's degree in filmmaking at the London Film School, where he focused on cinematography while gaining a general education in the medium. Remy has shot movies in a range of formats, including S16mm, 35mm, and the popular Arri Alexa and Red Epic digital cameras. Since his return, he has been working on short films and TV commercials while assisting with feature films in India. Renowned for, among other things, Chilly Potato Boy, Tipu, and What's Your Status from 2018 to 2019. He is a cinematographer who resides in Mumbai, Maharashtra. From S16mm through 35mm to the widely used digital systems, Remy has shot movies in a variety of formats.
