Actor and director Shashi Ranjan has many movies to his credit. Debuting with ‘Prem Geet’ as an actor in 1981, he started his journey in the cinema industry. His interest in acting and theater was from his youth days, and the inclination was evident. Having the talent that is needed to survive in this industry, he decided to direct movies and he did so with ‘Siyasat’, in 1992. After this film, there followed a couple of movies like ‘Dobara’, ‘Mungilal Rocks’, and so on.

But his interest towards television series was such that he started producing the shows in the early 1990s itself. He decided to go into the field of television and produce shows, which would make a difference than the normal melodrama. At least that was his intention. He directed and produced many shows, among them are ‘Song Yatra’, ‘Making of a Legend’, ‘Guftagu’, and so on. He was keen on celebrity talk shows and reality shows. This man is credited for the much controversial and infamous documentary, ‘Bandit Queen- A Controversy’.
