Samar Nakhate is a famous Indian film professor and scholar born on 18 June 1951 in Satara, India. He is the Director of the School of Film Studies at MIT World Peace University and a professor at Savitribai Phule Pune University. He graduated from Fergusson College and the Film and Television Institute of India in Film Direction and later became the Dean of FTII. He is also the Creative Director of the Pune International Film Festival. He has been involved in the film industry since childhood when he acted in Do Aankhen Barah Haath and Gulabjaam in 2018. He received the P. K. Nair Memorial Award in 2016 for his excellent work as a film academician. His other works include the TV series Star Bestsellers in 1999.
