Rajesh Ram Singh is mainly associated with Bollywood as a director. Mirza Juliet, Khushboo are some of his movies.
Karimuddin Asif famously known as K Asif was a film producer, director, and screenwriter in the Hindi film industry. He was known for his directorial work in the Hindi epic motion picture, Mughal-e-Azam (1960). He was born as Asif Karim to Dr.Fazal Karim and Bibi Ghulam Fatima on 14 June 1924 in Etawah, United Province. He moved to Bombay at a very young age and started off as assistant to his uncle, filmmaker and actor S. Nazir and his sibling Sikander Begum, wife of actor, producer and director Nazir Ahmed Khan. He started his career with a movie called “Phool”. Phool” had Prithviraj Kapoor, Durga Khote and Suraiya in various roles. His next venture was not a directorial one, but a production one. He produced a film called “Hulchul” and “John day”.
He was honourably mentioned in movies such as Heera (1973) and Chhoti Bahu (1971). He is known throughout the world for his impeccable work in the film Mughal-e-Azam which was produced, directed and written by him. Mughal-e-Azam is still known as the greatest movie ever made in the Hindi film industry. It is a movie based on the life story of Emperor Akbar the Great and a court dancer in his empire. With actors such as Dilip Kumar and Madhubala in the movie, his work was flourishing and he got a legendary status in Bollywood. He married the great Kathak dancer Sitara Devi, but the marriage failed. He later married Nigar Sultana from whom he has a daughter Heena Kausar. She became an actress and appeared in many films before marrying Muhammed Iqbal Memon an Indian underworld figure.
In 1960, K Asif was nominated for Filmfare in 3 different categories for his work in the movie Mughal-e-Azam, the Filmfare best director award, Filmfare Best Movie Award and Critics Filmfare for best movie. Mughal-e-Azam would always remain India’s first historical blockbuster. After the release and enormous success of Mughal-e-Azam, Asif started working on other movies such as Sasta Khoon Mehnga Paani and Love and God, his first directorial ventures as a colour project. Howeverthe project was never completed. This was due to the untimely death of first the actor Guru Dutt on October 10, 1964 and Asif himself on March 9, 1971 at an early age.It was announced by director Feroz Abbas Khan that he will bring back Mughal-e-Azam as a Broadway.
Jayant Deshmukh is a very famous filmography artist and producer in the Bollywood film industry. He made his debut in Indian Television in the year 1995 as a filmography artist in the TV series Panch Parameshwar. The TV series was a big hit, and he got much praise for his work. In the year 1997, he was the filmography artist of the art direction Prologue. Then he made his debut in Bollywood as a filmography artist in the year 2000 with the film Bawandar. It was a good film and so he was praised for his works which made his debut good. Bawandar was followed by Aankhen in the year 2002, and it was a great hit.
In the same year, another movie was released where Jayant was the Filmographer. The movie was called” Lal Salaam”. In the year 2003, the most notable film where he featured as the filmography artist was “Tere Naam”. The film was a blockbuster of the year. The movie starred actors like Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor. Salman Khan acted like a mad person who had suffered big losses in his life, and his acting was commendable. He was a part of two more movies that year, Dhund: The Fog and Maqbool, another big film of his career. In the year 2004, he was a part of the movie Deewar: Let’s Bring our heroes’ home.
It was a chartbuster and featured actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Sunil Shetty, Abhay Deol, Sunny Deol and many more. The film was based on war. He continued to be filmography artist in many films over the years. His last two films as a filmography artist were related to politics. In the year 2010, he was the filmography artist of Rajneeti, one of the best political movies till date, starring actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Rampal, Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor and much more. Then in the year 2011, he was the filmography artist of the movie Aarakshan starring Big B. As a production designer, he has always been part of hit films.
He made his debut as a production designer in the year 2011 with the film [email protected] 40. Then over the years he has produced some of the best movies Bollywood has ever witnessed, like Singh Saab the Great, starring Sunny Deol in the year 2013, Pied Piper in the same year, Hate Story 2 in 2014, Creature 3D in the same year starring Bipasha Basu, Khamoshiyan in 2015 and 1920 Evil Returns: London in the year 2016.
