Partho Sen-Gupta is an Indian director who has worked in several movies and documentaries. Partho is settled in Sydney and works as a writer-director there. He was born in Mumbai in 1965. He has studied at the FEMIS in Paris. He has got vast knowledge in film direction there. Let the Wind Blow is his first project, which was premiered at the Berlinale. Arunoday, his second project, won the Best Film and the Best Cinematography Awards in 2015 at the Durban Film Festival, Best Film at the Imagine Film festival, and an Honorable Jury Mention at the Munich Film festival. Arunoday was also nominated at the 2015 Asia-Pacific Screen Academy Awards.
Though Partho got recognized for the works that he did in the late ‘90s, he is in that film industry from late ‘80s. He worked as a production manager in Main Zinda Hoon 1988 and in Nocturne indien in 1989. He was the art director in the movie Ashes to Ashes that got released in 1989. In 1987 he was the assistant art director of the film Mr. India. Partho has also worked in Bhavna as an assistant to the art director in the year 1984.
