A phenomenal producer and a brilliant director, Momina Duraid is the woman behind the popular Pakistani television dramas Humsafar, Dastaan, Udaari, Shehr-e-Zaat, and more. Hailing from a Pashtun background, Momina Duraid was born on June 30, 1971, in Pakistan. Coming from a marketing background, Momina Duraid initially started her career in the banking sector. After marriage, she helped her mother-in-law with the finances of her production house. Gradually, she got engrossed with the creation process and got associated with the production side too. With her husband and mother-in-law developing Hum Network, Momina Duraid took care of the production. Her first drama as a producer, ‘Mere Pass Pass,’ did exceedingly well, paving her way into the television industry. In 2010, Momina Duraid decided to adapt the novel Bano, by Razia Butt, into drama.
The drama, Dastaan, is the first of a kind because dramas or movies about partitions are very few. But, breaking all the odds, Dastaan received great appreciation and accolades and is considered one of the best Pakistani television dramas of all time. Being an avid reader, she then wanted to dramatize the novel Humsafar by
