Javed Sayyed

Javed Sayyed is an editor, director and documentarian who works in the Bollywood film industry. Javed has been inspired to become a filmmaker since his childhood, he idolized some of the greatest Hollywood and Bollywood directors growing up. Javed always mentions how supportive his family has been in his pursuit of achieving his dreams of getting into the film industry. He got a diploma in Editing from Film and TV Institute of India in 1971 and got right into filmmaking. He started his career by making some ad campaigns and commercials.

In 1975, he joined the editing department and edited his first Bollywood film ever, the film was Andhera, a crime thriller centred around the life of a taxi driver who falls for a rich girl. His next films were Kaala Aadmi and Shabash Daddy, where he worked as an assistant director. He then finally started working as a chief editor and went on to edit shows like Heena, Nukkad, Khandaan, Wagle Ki Duniya Wagle Ki Duniya is a prominent Indian comedy sitco >> Read More... , Daraar, Kitty Party, Kagaz Ki Kashti and many more. In 1977, he made his debut as a solo editor in Bollywood, the film Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro. The critically acclaimed film was based on a Muslim youth who aspires to become a big shot criminal with the help of his elder brother who works as a lawyer.
