Indian filmmaker Fareeda Mehta directs feature films, documentaries, and short films. Born in July 1959, Mehta completed her studies in film direction at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, after completing her social sciences coursework at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Bombay. In 1989, Mehta created Hawa Ka Rang, her debut short film, which won the top prize at the Turin Film Festival. She was overjoyed because winning an award for one's first project wasn't an easy task.
Patrik Sampati and Yaadon Ke Kinaare are some of the other short films she made later in her career. Bhavatarana and In Search Of Greener Pastures are the documentaries she worked hard to create. Although she worked as just a screenwriter in Bhavatarana, she was immensely engrossed in the process of making it, working hard as if it were her first and last chance to prove her creativity. The passion this woman possesses for filmmaking is beyond understanding.
