Bilal Lashari is a cinematographer, film director, occasional actor, and screenwriter from Pakistan. He was born on August 4th, 1984, in Quetta, Balochistan region of Pakistan. He grew up in Lahore, where he attended Lahore Grammar School Senior Boys Campus JT and Lahore University of Management Sciences afterward. Then he went ahead to study at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. In 2008, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Motion Pictures and Television. Bilal was also responsible for directing the "Chal Bulleya'' music video for Meekal Hassan Band. He finally debuted as a director with the action-thriller film "Waar" in 2013. Waar holds the record of being the seventh highest-grossing film in Pakistan. His latest film, "The Legend of Maula Jatt," a remake of the 1979 release cult classic "Maula Jatt," has been described as the most expensive Pakistani film. He served as the director, cinematographer, and editor for the film set to release in July 2022.

In addition to that, he also had a cameo role in the 2015 adventure comedy film "Jawani Phir Nahi Ani." His father, Kamran Lashari, is a retired civil servant of Pakistan and served as the Petroleum Secretary of Pakistan, Chief Secretary Sindh, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority under President Pervez Musharraf, President of the Lahore Gymkhana, and director-general of the Walled City of Lahore Authority.

He has two younger brothers– Rohail Lashari and Omar Lashari. Rohail, who served as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the Lahore-based band Jhol (2010-2015), graduated from HEC Paris with an MBA. He was also in charge of the seventh season of Coke Studio Pakistan. And Omar is a financial analyst who graduated from Cornell University.
