Azfar Jafri is a film director, screenwriter, actor, and VFX artist based in Karachi, Pakistan. He graduated from Hamdard University as an IT engineer with a major in telecom. However, Jafri decided to follow his dreams and began his career by providing background scores for interactive corporate CDs. He then transitioned to a 3D character animator while video-editing and posting effects for digital commercials, music videos, and documentaries. Jafri eventually became the VFX lead at Trango. He worked with several local and international clients, such as– Ariel, Huawei, Lexus, Mobilink-Blackberry, Nike, Scion, Telenor, UPS, USAID, UNICEF, UNDP, U.S. Exchange Programme, etc. Meanwhile, Jafri also directed and produced several independent short films, like "Charkhi" (2010), "Aik Khat Tumharay Naam" (2011), " Khel Khel is Smita Thackeray’s first serial telecasted >> Read More... The success of his short horror/suspense film "Khel" led him to his first feature film by IRK Films, called " Siyaah Imran Raza Kazmi and harem Farooq created the Siya >> Read More... " (2013). Siyaah earned him critical recognition and multiple accolades, including a nomination for Best Director in the ARY Film Awards 2014 and Lux Style Awards 2014. Jafri directed the next two of his feature films under the same production house— "Janaan'' (romantic comedy) and "Parchi" (action comedy). Janaan went on to become one of the highest-grossing films of 2016. Whereas, Parchi became a successful non-eid released in 2018.

The same year, he served as the head of the animation and a voiceover actor for the commercially successful animated film "Allahyar and the Legend of Markhor." In 2019, he directed an action film based on the Pakistan Air Force called "Sherdil" under NK Pictures. His latest romantic comedy film, "Heer Maan Ja," was released on Eid-ul-Adha in 2019. Currently, he is directing a fantasy VFX film called "Umro Ayyar– A New Beginning," set to release in 2022. In addition to that, he will lend his voice to the upcoming animated film "Allahyar and the 100 Flowers of God." The secret behind his success is his creativity and the ability to absorb a specific discipline to a remarkable level and then apply that to the next area of interest with astonishing results. Most of his work displays his prowess in the CG background, which provides him with a unique edge in the Pakistan television and film industry.
