Anil Nakhasi

.Anil Nakhasi is a film director, visual artist, and painter. He is a media professional with working experience of more than twenty-four years in television, radio, print, and digital. He was born in 1973. Anil Nakhasi’s place of birth is Srinagar, Kashmir in India. He took his primary education at D.A.V School in Kashmir and Migrant Camp School in Jammu. After that, he finished a Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) degree in Electronics at Jammu Science College, Kashmir University. He then did a postgraduate diploma course in Journalism at New Delhi YMCA (1996 – 1997). He is fluent in Hindi, Urdu, Kashmiri, and English languages. Anil Nakhasi was a creative director at donna.com for over a year (Aug 2001 – Oct 2002). He was giving creative inputs apart from writing on many issues & making political or social cartoons. Besides this, he was a freelancer reporter or cartoonist for many newspapers and magazines.

As a producer, Anil Nakhasi worked with Doordarshan for over ten years from 2001 to 2012. He did hundreds of productions (studio-based & live OBs) as a producer. He also did series & shows on various genres. He recorded eminent personalities of Prime Ministers, Presidents, and other well-known personalities. He handled creative departments such as the Promo & Programme Packaging Centre. He was involved in programme scheduling. He gained first-hand knowledge of each important department involved in running a channel. Anil Nakhasi has worked as a freelance writer for more than twenty-seven years (Jul 1994 – Aug 2021). He began as a freelance journalist.

He has written hundreds of scripts for radio, television, portals, and theatre or workshops. He also wrote the script of the film for the Mumbai Film Division. He has written for DD Channels, UTV, various ministries, and corporates. Anil Nakhasi was a cartoonist cum journalist for over twenty-six years (May 1995 – Aug 2021). He made political cartoons for different media houses. He also made cartoon & illustration montages for television programmes. From Jan 1998 to May 2023, Anil Nakhasi was a television programme producer, director, writer, cartoonist, artist, consultancy, and visiting faculty in Delhi. He wrote & directed a series on health, “HealthyWealthy," which was aired by DD National.

He wrote scripts for documentaries, fashion shows, fiction, entertainment shows, workshops, etc. He also wrote title songs for a few series. He was an Independent media person for over two years (May 2021 – May 2023). As a film director, he worked on a documentary and made a biographical short film which was screened in Delhi. As a film writer, Anil Nakhasi wrote and did visual editing dictation for a biographical documentary film meant for INGCA. In 2007, Anil Nakhasi was a visiting faculty at BITS Pilani (Rajasthan & Goa), Galgotia University, and Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication. He also received many awards, including the Amsterdam Design Award, Chgall Design, The Design Award 2018, DKL / Lience Chihent, and others.
