Amiya Chakrabarty is an Indian Director. He primarily worked in the Hindi Film Industry. He was born on 30th November, 1912 in Bogura, Bengal, India. Besides being a director, he is also a screenwriter, and producer. Due to his hard work, and dedication he became the leading director of Hindi Cinema during the1950s. Some of the movies which he directed include Bandhan, which released in 1940. Anjaan, which released in 1941. Basant, which released in 1942. Jwar Bhata, which released in 1944. Mera Suhaag, which released in 1947. Girls School, which released in 1949. Gauna, which released in 1950. Badal, which released in 1951. He also has the honor of receiving the 4th Filmfare award. The name of his wife is Saraswati Shastri.
