Sonali started dancing when she was three years old. As a kid, she used to keenly observe dance movements in marriages and gatherings in her village. She developed an interest in dance from there. In an interview, Sonali said that after she participated in the show, she bought a small land and was able to live a much bigger space now.
In 2013, Bad Salsa entered Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, a dance reality show, and placed in 3rd position. Although their performance was highly appreciated, they did not make it to the final rounds. In 2020, Sonali and Sumanth participated in America's Got Talent. With their unique salsa routine, the duo blew away both the judges and audience and received a standing ovation. Their audition video went viral, and soon Bad Salsa became popular on social media.
Their performance gathered the attention of many national news channels who made exclusive stories on Sonali and Sumanth's lives. Sonali hopes to represent India in all International dance competitions as long as she can. She wishes to help dancers who need exposure and train them in every aspect of the dancing technique.
