Shalini Sethi

Shalini Sethi is an Indian producer, creative head, and executive producer. She did her schooling at Carmel Convent Chanakyapuri, Delhi, and then completed her graduation from  Miranda College, Delhi University. From 1995 to 2007, she had worked for various companies as an Executive producer, and Creative Head; some of them were Aim Television, UTV Software Communications Ltd., Moving Picture Company, etc.

In January 2007, Sethi joined ‘Bindass’, a music channel, as Creative Director. She was a member of a small strategy team for the Brand Bindass from pre-launch to its presentation. The Walt Disney Company India has selected Bindass as one of four main brand verticals, along with UTV, Marvel, and Disney. After one year, in 2008, Sethi joined UTV as the programming director andBindass' FPC, annual planning, and programming budget was all her responsibility. She made a significant contribution to the channel's promotional strategy, both off and on-air, with a focus on GRPs and brand reach.

Sethi then joined Viacom18 Media Private Limited as Programming head-MTV. She was in charge of defining MTV's content strategy while keeping an ever-changing target demographic in mind, ushering in a new era of content at MTV focusing on material with a message and a purpose. She was also in charge of developing shows like MTV Big F, MTV Troll Police, and MTV Love School, as well as directing internal teams and production houses to create excellent material every week.

An acknowledged expert on media and branding aimed at youth, a driving force behind MTV in India – creating some of the most talked-about shows on MTV in recent times such as MTV Big F and MTV Troll Police and taking marquee shows such as Roadies, and Splitsvilla to new heights.
