Monika Shergill

Monika Shergill, who started her journey as an environmental journalist and documentary filmmaker, is today Netflix India’s Vice President for Content. A BA. English (Hons.) graduate from Miranda House, University of Delhi; “I always wanted to tell stories,” she says. Before joining Netflix India, she worked at Viacom 18 Digital Ventures as Executive Vice President and Head of Content for VOOT, playing a crucial role in launching the platform. She has previously headed Non-Fiction programming & strategy for Star India Network for the popular show, `Satyamev Jayate’ for Star Plus and nine other networks and worked in all major broadcast networks, including Zee & Sony Entertainment Television, to create successful scripted and unscripted series. She ranked 47 in the Fortune India 2020s most powerful women post her promotion from Director, International Originals at Netflix India to her current position.
