Annu Awasthi

Annu or Anup Awasthi is an Indian actor and businessman. He has worked in a very famous television show called “ Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai! is a comedy-centric show te >> Read More... ” in which he played the role of “Mama Ji”. He was born on 15 August 1971 in Sumerpur, Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, India. His zodiac sigh is Leo, and he currently lives in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. His father, Jatashankar Awasthi, was a government employee, and his mother; Vidya Devi Awasthi, was a housewife. They together had five children. He has four siblings. He got married to Seema Awasthi in the year 1997; they together had two children, a son (Manas Awasthi) and a daughter (Vanshika Awasthi).

He has completed his academics till 9th standard. He failed high school seven times. His political inclinations are towards Bharatiya Janata Party. Mainly his hobbies include collections of luxury cars and bikes. Annu is very fond of his motorbikes and cars; he is also very fond of automatic weapons and has a large collection of automatic weapons. When asked about them, he mentioned that his nature of work forced him to carry such kinds of weapons with him. Due to his lack of interest in studies, he failed his High school examination seven times; in 1985, at the of 16, he appeared for the first time in the High school examination and continuously appeared till the age of 26 but after so many attempts, he could not clear the examination.

He started to sell medical supplies door to door in Kanpur in the year 1996, and in this time, a girl who lived in his neighborhood named Seema caught his eye and fell in love with her. At that time, Seema had completed her MA and was getting ready to take the Civil Services exam. Everyone was reluctant to marry Seema with Annu as he was a high school failure; however, her family gave up after a long period of persuading her parents. They tied the knot in 1997. Annu commenced a small business of sale and purchase of old cars after his marriage in the Lajpat Nagar area of Kanpur in 1998. He named his firm “Curfew Car Bazaar.” After the commencement of his business, he rented an apartment in the Ranigunj area of Kanpur and lived there with his wife.

In 2017, he started a YouTube channel named “Annu Awasthi Kanpur Se” , where now he has more than 90 thousand subscribers. After his audio invitation of his son’s “Janeu Nimantran” to his relatives in Kanpuria style went viral on social media, he suddenly became famous in November 2019. After that, he appeared in the popular television show known as “Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain” in 2019, where he played Manmohan Tiwari’s “Mama Ji”.
