Inspired by the cooking techniques of her mother and grandmother, Shazia Khan developed an interest in cooking since she was seven years old. In 2011, Shazia Khan took part in the Delhi auditions of Star Plus's cookery show MasterChef India season 2 with the support of her family members. After passing through several round auditions, Shazia Khan got selected as one of the contestants among the top fifteen contestants. Shazia Khan reserved a place for herself in the finals of the cookery show with her excellent cooking skills and her calm nature. While Shipra Khanna lifted the trophy, Shazia Khan shot to fame after emerging as the first runner-up of the show. After her victory in MasterChef, Shazia Khan became a famous face with the audience. She then traveled around the country and world, conducting cooking workshops and live cooking demonstrations.

In 2015, Chef Shazia Khan made her debut appearance as a host in the cooking show The Good Food Guide on Star Middle East and Africa. Following the performance, she featured in K For Kids show on FoodFood YouTube channel, where she would cook with kids. In 2019, Shazia Khan appeared along with nutritionist Vasundha Sainik for the show Mother's Menu. Further, she has also done various brand collaborations on YouTube. Shazia Khan owns the cooking space The Cooking Studio and The Studio Café. She launched her cookbook named What's on the Menu in 2020.

The book gives us the flavors of traditional recipes with a modern touch. Besides cooking, Shazia Khan is a member of the managing committee of Delhi Public School in Bangalore North and Mysore. Also, she teaches underprivileged students and conducts a cooking training program for underprivileged girls. Among many other accolades she has received, Celebrity Chef of the year- Female at Fabelle Food Food Awards is one among them.
