Suryansh Patel

Suryansh Patel is an actor, writer, theatre educator, theatre director, and production manager from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He was born in 1994. He lives in Mumbai. He has completed his post-graduation in Acting & Theatre-Making from Drama School Mumbai, mainly focused on performance techniques and devised forms of theatre-making. After qualifying from Drama School Mumbai, he performed in FATS TheArts’ play ‘A Farming Story’ (2018) which was directed by Faezeh Jalali.

He has a passion for doing theatre with and for children. Under the mentorship of Bengaluru-based Aruna Ganesh Ram, he came up with a solo performance ‘Tiddalik the Frog’ based on an Australian folktale in 2018. After that, he guided a children’s play, an alteration of the fairy tale ‘Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs’, which was enacted by students of JBCN International School, Parel in 2019. He was the production manager for Visual Respiration’s play ‘Stand On The Street’ which was directed by Aruna Ganesh Ram for the shows enacted at The Hindu Theatre Festival 2018 in Chennai.

Since 2019 he has been regularly working with Sphere Arts Education and The Shakespeare Company of India as a theatre educator for international and ICSE board schools across Mumbai diligently working with middle & high school learners. He diligently directs full-length annual plays as well. He has performed in a short play RAFOO which was invited to the 'Shorts Live Festival 2020' organized by TherootsIndia in Mumbai.

He has also been a constant performer-reader for Hoshruba Repertory's monthly 'Urdu Mehfil' organized at Prithvi House in 2019 which celebrated Urdu literature. He is a part of The Shakespeare Company of India where he continues to perform in scene work showcases, audio plays, and performance readings. He has acted in a feature film titled PIPPA. He has performed in Amazon's original web series HOSTEL DAZE Season 2 and in a TV serial STORY 9 MONTHS KI.

He has worked in advertisements for brands such as the MPL gaming app, Mutual Funds and Zomato. Suryansh likes to write and talk about his life experiences and incidents which have shaped his life. One of them, ‘Kaisa Vikas’, got published in the national Hindi lifestyle magazine ‘Aha! Zindagi’. He has also performed in a short film ‘Muh Dikhayi’ (2019), which was produced by the Film and Television Institute of India, and in a YES BANK corporate film (2019). Suryansh also finds interest in the storytelling of folk tales.
