Later, he got graduated from Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidyalaya College. He did a Bachelor of Arts in Hotel Management. He also learned acting from ICE Balaji Telefilms Institute. Khera has always wanted to become an actor and a singer since childhood. He was 14 years of age when he first participated in a modeling contest. He won the title of “Madhya Pradesh” Best Physique in 2014 and participated in PTC Punjabi “Mr. Punjabi 2015.”

Simar has worked with SHAN-E-KHALSA PRODUCTIONS in a Punjabi movie, NAGARA, in 2018 as the leading negative lead character named Teji.
