Saumil Munshi is a well-known Indian musician. He works in the Gujarati music industry. He was born on 5 September 1960. His father is Paresh Munshi, and his mother is Bhaktida Munshi. Saumil used to sing in festivals since his childhood. He and his brother used to go to different competitions to perform. In 1973, he joined the Jagh Mag Mandal with his brother. They used to perform various styles of music there. The genres varied from film songs to classical poetry. After years of singing in the Mandal, in 1980, he gave his debut performance titled Morpichch. The performance came out to be a great success. He, then, with his brother, performed in various shows and cities. In 1995, he released an album with his brother.

The album was titled Meghdhanoosh. The album was a 45-song album dedicated to kids. In 2000, they released another album, Swarsetu. The purpose of the album was to promote Sugam Sangeet and Kavya Sangeet. Various aspirant singers were allowed to showcase their skills and art. After two years, in 2002, they launched a mega project. The project consisted of 6 albums. It was called Hastakshar. Each album had a song by a different poet.

Many different poets collaborated on the project. In 2012, the duo released a magazine, Swarsetu News Digest. The duo, in 2014, also organized a 3-day music festival. The festival was called Anushthaan. Different musicians and artists joined the festival. Saumil has collaborated with Red FM. They have released four music albums together- three volumes of Red Raas Garba and Bajate Raho Beshaq Bindaas.

Saumil-Shyamil has given music to various films like Bhale Padharya: Welcome to Gujarat, Mission Mummy, and Hun Hunshi Hunshilal. They are also known for TV series like Vaanarsena, Grahan, and Ramat Ramaade Ramo. Saumil, with his brother, has received various awards for their contribution to the world of music. They were honored with the Gujarat State Gaurav in 2006, Best Music Director for Bhale Padharya, Trend Setter of the Year in 2014, and many more.
