On February 1, 1916, in Jamkham Bhaliya, Venibhai was born. Both his primary and secondary schooling was done in Bombay. In Bombay, he briefly joined Be Ghadi Moj. From 1939 until 1942, he proofread for Prabhat Daily, Bhartiya Sahitya Sangh, and Satu Sahitya in Ahmedabad. He was a participant in the Quit India Movement in 1942 and served ten months in prison. From 1944 to 1949, he collaborated with Prajabandhu and Gujarat Samachar. From 1949 till his death, he collaborated daily with Janmabhoomi. He passed away in Bombay on January 3, 1980. He was referred to as Bando Badami by Umashankar Joshi. His close friend was Balmukund Dave. Gujarati poet, lyricist, short story author, and journalist Venibhai Jamnadas Purohit was also a journalist.

Sant Khurshidas was one of the pen names he used when writing. He experimented with various poetic forms, such as the sonnet, Gazal, and Bhajan. His poetry volumes include Sinjarav (1955), Gulzar Shayari (1962), Deepti (1966), and Bachman (1975). His Kavyaprayag (1978) contains poems from the Middle Ages and the Modern Era. He penned the lyrics for various Gujarati movies, including Jogidas Khuman (1948), Kariyavar, Gunsundarino Gharsansar, and Kanku (1969). (1950). His Divadandi song Taro Aankhno Afeeni, still well-liked in Gujarat, was and continues to be the most excellent love ballad of all time. Vanunu Van, Setu, and Attorney a Diva are all collections of short stories. He used the alias Akha Bhagat to publish a humorous column in Janmabhoomi.
