S. A. Rajkumar Re-elected As Leader Of Music Directors’ Association

Born in 1964, S. A. Rajkumar is a man hailing from Chennai who went on to become a respected celebrity in the South Indian film industry. He is the man credited for the melodious tone in our ears. Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam movies have music composed by this talented soul.

Soft music is his strength. He has won three of the famous Filmfare awards for composing music in movies such as the 1990 Tamil cult classic Pudhu Vasantham, which marked the debut for the director Vikraman. He has links to music as his father used to perform as a vocalist in stage shows organized by eminent personalities as Deva and Gangai Amaren. Rajkumar would silently listen to his father play. He developed a keen interest in music, encouraged by his mother to pursue it further. He has received his formal musical training from Subbaiah Bhagavatha for a period of three long years. His perseverance and training is now visible to all as he gets re-elected as the leader of the Music Directors’ Association.

Chinna Poove Mella Pesu was the first movie in which S. A. Rajkumar did the tasks of a music director. Robert-Rajashekar, the duo signed him up in the year 1987. S. A. Rajkumar has given the industry some of his greatest hits in the company of Dr. Vishnu. The man continues to contribute to the industry, now as the leader of the association.
