The Legendary Director K Viswanath Is No More!

Kasinadhuni Viswanath, who presented the Indian film industry with beautiful films, breathed his last on 2nd February 2023. Started his director career in 1951 as an assistant director with the Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Pathala Bhairavi, he has directed 53 films in his career span of 60 years as a director. Most of his films deal with societal issues. He has won 5 National Awards; in 1992, he was awarded Padma Shri, and in 2016, he was honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

In 1965, he directed Atma Gowram with Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Kanchana, and Rajasree in the lead roles. The debut film won him the Nandini Award for Best Feature Film. Sankarabharanam, Subhalekha, Sagara Sangamam, and Swathi Muthyam are some of his super-hit films. In 2004, he directed Swarabhishekam, which earned him a National Award for Best Director. His last film as a director was Subhapradam. His last film as an actor was in a Kannada film with Arjun Sarja, Oppanda. The Indian film industry has lost a legend now! May his soul rest in peace!
