Mugdha Chaphekar is a television and film actress and a model from India. She was born on March 24, 1987 in Mumbai. She started her journey in the industry when she was only 5 years old after working with actor Dharmendra in the 1995 Bollywood film, Aazmayish. Mugdha graduated in D.G. Ruparel College in Matunga, Mumbai and took up English Literature. She finished her graduation while shooting the historical drama, Dharti Ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan on STAR Plus. She gained her fame and popularity after performing as Princess Sanyogita in this series. This is also her stepping stone to enter the world of being an actress and she has won the Yogya Jodi Award in Star Parivaar in 2007. She was also nominated for the Most Popular Actress category in the Indian Telly Awards on the same year.

She then entered Sagar Arts’ period drama, on NDTV Imagine. She played the role of Shera, a strong girl who always follow her father. She is also a thug who works to kidnap people so she can add more money to their treasure. But this serial failed to make a success and did not even gain TRPs. In 2009, she did the drama serial, Mere Ghar Aayi Ek Nanhi Pari and played the lead role as Chandni Chawla. But this as well did not impress the viewers and ended after six months. She was also seen in the Hindi sitcom, Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo as Aarti Jhaveri on SAB TV and in the Indian romantic comedy serial, Golmaal Hai Bhai Sab Golmaal Hai as Dhwani on SAB TV. Mugdha also appeared in on UTV Bindass. She was recently roped in to do the role of Aarushi in Saat Vachan on Zee TV, opposite with Ravish Desai.

Mugdha has done various television serials like Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin, Kya Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Solah Singar and more. She also did several commercial ads for products like Coca-cola, Clinic Plus, Reynolds, Rexona and a lot more.

Mugdha is the first from her family to enter the acting industry since her mother and father works in a regular office. She is also a look alike of the popular actress, . She is a very versatile actress who can portray almost every role needed for her character. She was called as a ‘natural actress’ by her fans. She performed all her characters very well and let the viewers understand all the emotions of the character she is playing.
