Basanta Choudhary is an Indian Bollywood actor whose work is highly remarkable in the film industry. His contribution is highly laudable and loved by the people of the Bollywood industry. He came from the small town of Nagpur, bringing dreams in his eyes. He always wanted to do something big and be a part of the beautiful world of drama and films. He lived most of his life in Nagpur. He was born to the Datta Choudhary family of Nagpur. He was born on 5th of May, 1928 and completed his journey on 20th of June, 2000. Life inevitably brings difficulties in everyone's life, and we just have to move on with it. Basanta Choudhary was diagnosed with lung cancer and that ultimately become the reason for his death. But, that never stoped him to work.

With great efforts, he succeeded in becoming one of the celebrated actor and producer of the film industry. Mr. Choudhury was the son of Mr. Shiddeshwar and Mrs. Kamala Choudhary. He had a brother named Prasanta Choudhury. He did his schooling and graduation from Nagpur, India and passed the Matriculation Examination from Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Then he shifted to Kolkata and stayed near Ranikuthi in a town called Tollygunge. He had an interest in collecting rare coins and currency of different countries. He was also a fan of Persian and Kashmiri shawls. He did his debut film in the year 1952 “Mahaprasthaner Pathe” and was directed by Kartik Chattopadhay.

Some of his movies, he adored were “Jadu Bhatta”, “Bhagban Shri Krishna Chaitanya”, “Andhare Alo”, “Anushtoop Chhanda”, “Devi Chowdhurani”, “Deep Jwele Jaai with Suchitra Sen”, “Diba Ratrir Kabya”, “Abhaya O Srikanta”, “Devi Chowdhurani” and “Raja Rammohan Roy”. He was also a part of various theater dramas and radio FM. Mr. Basanta Choudhary retired at the age of forty-one years and ending his working years from 1952 to 1993. He received many reputable awards during his lifetime. He received award for the best male actor for the movie “Raja Rammohan” awarded by the B.F.J.A. from Star Theater Bangla stage. That was one of his awe-worthy moment during his life. People still appreciates his work. He once received the “Sheriff of Kolkata” award and then became the Chairman of “Nandan-West Bengal Film Center”. The Indian audience and the film industry will always remember him for his mind-blowing work he had done for many years.
