The series starts with two families. Kamaluddin Lakhnawi is a strict Muslim man. He has a son and a daughter.

The son is obedient and listens to everything his father says. The daughter is rebellious and moves forward with logic, not by her father’s rules. Kamal’s rules are ridiculous and old-fashioned. He asks his children not to use English words while speaking as he hates the British. As a result, they talk in pure Urdu or Farsi which sounds hilarious. Kamal also does not want his children to speak or make decisions as a sign of respect when the elders are capable of making decisions. 

Ranjit Singh Ranjit Singh, a perfectionist paying meticulous at >> Read More... is a Punjabi man. He has just a young daughter in his family. Ranjit is a free-spirited man. He has no rules about life but teaches his daughter to take a stand for herself in every matter. Kamal’s family has migrated from another city. They know about an old house that his father had mentioned in papers. They arrive at that house and try to replace the old name poster outside the house with their names. Ranjit and his daughter arrive and look at Kamal as an intruder. According to Ranjit, the house belonged to his family. Both of the families swear that they have the papers for the property. A fight ensues between them. They draw a chalk line partitioning the house into two parts. They hate each other a lot.

Soon a property lawyer comes to check the papers and reveals a shocking truth. The house belonged to Balbil Singh Lakhnavi who is the father of both Ranjit and Kamal. It turns out that both are brothers. Unfortunately, they both have equal rights to the house. They realize they are stuck with each other. They start living in the same house. Every day brings forth a new incident which leads to a fight between the two families. Surprisingly, there is love blooming between Kamal’s son and Ranjit’s daughter.
