The series premiered on 17 February 2020 on Geo TV.  In the show, Raima (Madiha) works as a radio jockey and has huge aspirations. She is a self-reliant, hardworking woman and does not hesitate to give a piece of her mind whenever required.

But her destiny turns dark when she meets the successful businessman Saif. This egoistic entrepreneur who believes that he can take over the world with the amount of power he has, especially over women. This portrayal of “toxic masculinity” through Saif’s character adds layers to the show’s themes. Now, even though Saif (Faizal Kaiser) has been married for 25 years and is neither happy nor keeps his wife comfortable, he does not give a thought when it comes to marrying another woman. 

During an interview, he falls in love with Raima and forces her into marrying him. Suppressed by his powerful authority and position, Raima has no choice but to marry him. And the struggle does not end here. She has to suffer the atrocities not only from Saif but from his family. Raima is left helpless because now she does not have her independence, both professionally and financially.

She even wished to marry Saad (Saif’s nephew) but is now burdened with fulfilling the responsibilities of a wife. Through Saif and Raima’s dynamic, we see how easily wealth and position can oppress those with massive will and
who want to make it big in life.  The opening theme,“Dard Kay Mausam”, was beautifully sung by Sehar Gul, giving the show a perfect start to each episode.
