The serial aired on 22 July and continued up until 19^th December 2017 consisting of a total of 22 episodes, each with a running time of 35-40 minutes approximately. It was telecasted on URDU 1 and revolved around the concept of child marriage and its problems and why it should be stopped. The story revolves around a girl named Saira and a boy named Shahab. She is depicted as an eight-year-old child who lives with her family consisting of her father, elder brother, his wife, and their children.

Saira's elder sister Bushra is married to a man named Naseeb. The entire family is shown to be living in a fairly rural area in Pakistan. A young woman named Yasmin is the village health worker. She has a son named Shahab who is depicted to be the same age as Saira and hence treats her as his best friend. Bushra is pregnant with her first child and unfortunately dies during childbirth leaving everyone devastated after her death. Saira's father Khuda Baksh Khuda Baksh was officially named as Khuda Baksh Ma >> Read More... and her elder brother Murad suggest a marriage between Naseeb and Saira considering the fact that the newborn seemed to be attached to her. Naseeb considers the idea and after initial protest, he agrees to the marriage.

Saira is devastated to hear this and all her dreams get shattered. After the marriage, Naseeb warns Saira to end her friendship with Shahab, which upon her failing to do so will lead to consequences. Shahab eventually moves to a new city with his father and gradually discovers that his father has a second wife and a daughter.  Meanwhile, a woman named Shahina takes it upon herself to look after Saira and Tipu(Naseeb's son). She indulges in doing all the household chores by herself and also teaches Saira how to do them. Naseeb is pleased with Shahina's dedication towards his family and hence decides to help her financially.

Later, Shahab decides to tell his mother Yasmin about his dad's second marriage. Yasmin initially shocked about this information decides to accept it and tells Shahab to work hard and make his life better than that of his father. Naseeb begins to enjoy the presence of Shahina in the house and gradually falls for her. However, this development in his emotions leaves him bitter towards Saira going as far as to strangle her in front of the hospital staff when his own son Tipu falls ill and they are wrongly informed that he has died. Yasmin tries to reason with Naseeb that Saira can't be expected to care for Tipu considering she is a minor herself.

Naseeb confides in Yasmin and shares his wish to marry Shahina as he wants someone capable of looking after his house. Yasmin advises him a divorce, however, Naseeb gets worried about what Murad will do if he divorces Saira. Yasmin also advises Saira that she should try to continue her studies and that divorce from Naseeb should be a good thing. Shahina eventually gets married to Naseeb and this changes her personality almost immediately. She begins to treat Saira as her slave while she enjoys her marriage and slacks off of work. It is shown that Shahina becomes jealous of Saira considering the fact that she is the second wife.

When Saira eventually grows up she has a chance of meeting her childhood best friend Shahab again when he comes back home to visit her. Shahab asks Saira if she is happy and if Naseeb treats her well. Saira can't give an answer to that and that doesn't sit well with Shahab. He decides to stay in the village for a longer period of time after completing his studies in order to help the villagers. When Saira and Naseeb's relationship begins to deteriorate further and turns borderline abusive, Saira finds comfort in her friend Shahab and both of them eventually begin to fall for each other. What happens when their secret relationship is revealed to the others how Saira tries to battle her way out of a stereotypical society and an abusive relationship and whether Naseeb ever realizes his mistake is what constitutes the rest of the serial.
