Sarmad Khoosat was born on May 7, 1979,in Pakistan. By profession, he is an actor, director, producer, and screenwriter. His father, Irfan Khoosat,is a veteran actor, producer, and comedian, while his sister, KanwalK hoosat, is also an actress. He completed his degree from Government College University(Lahore). He has done his master's degree in Psychology and has won a gold medal.Sarmad’s career took a rise during the late 1990s, with the show Shashlik, which ran for three years on PTV.
His first directed TV drama was Piya NaamKa Diya (2007). In 2011, the TV drama PaniJaisa Piyarwon him the best director award on the LUX Style Awards. Sarmad has directed several TV dramas like Humsafar and Shehr-e-Zaat. He is as one of the best South Asian filmmakers. His film, "Zindagi Tamasha," won the Kim JinSeok award at the Busan Film Festival 2019 and bagged the Best Film and Best Actor at the Asian Film Festival 2021. He has also played the role of
