This series revolves around the socio-economic problems of the citizens in Pakistan. It highlights various deeply rooted issues in Pakistan, child abuse specifically. The story follows the 8-year-old Arifa, who was sexually abused and murdered, which results in chaos in her town. The narrative then shifts to Shehnaz, a mother to three daughters, who are deemed “bad luck” by their paternal grandmother. Due to the family’s financial struggles, Shehnaz’s youngest daughter, Abida, cannot attend school for her education. She thus joins a madrasa for her educational needs. As a result, Shehnaz and her husband arranged an auto service for her transportation needs.

A new character is introduced, Dabeer, who is an innocent and sensitive boy. He asks for Safeena’s hand in marriage; even though Safeena has clearly stated she doesn't want him to come near her, she still has feelings for him. In a series of events and plot twists, it gets revealed that Dabeer has been murdering the young girls of his town and that his next victim is Abida. This is followed by Abida getting kidnapped and Shehnaz’s mother-in-law suggesting that her husband get remarried to have a son as a grandchild.

The plot follows up with Abida going missing for two days. It later gets revealed that Abida has been murdered and her body is found on a heap of garbage. The plot is set in motion as her family is devastated and mourns her loss. In the end, Dabeer is found guilty of his crimes, and he is hanged in front of the whole town to witness his death, as he sees the faces of the 12 innocent girls he had murdered. This show is filled with tragic events and complex situations, leading to tragic deaths and regrets. But it also masterfully portrays how child abuse and pedophilia ruin people’s lives. This show sends out a beautiful and strong message. The Cast has also done a phenomenal job of fulfilling their roles.
