The story is predominantly centered around the lives of a young couple, Emaan and Adil. Adil is disturbed when Emaan becomes pregnant. He views it as an end for his aspirations, and distances himself from her. Meanwhile, throughout her pregnancy, Emaan not only deals with the physical and emotional changes but also contends with her husband's insensitivity. Adil has an affair with her colleague, Kiran, and yet again makes one more mistake to destroy the love left in his marriage. At the same time, Emaan becomes friends with Shariq, their next-door neighbor. Their friendship takes an unexpected turn, as Shariq, hopelessly in love with her. Mere Paas Paas explores the complexities of relationships especially on marriage. It sheds light on the struggles faced by Emaan in her journey of pregnancy, strained marriage, and unexpected companionship with Shariq.
