Main Akeli is an Urdu television series that aired on the Pakistani channel GEO TV. The show was released on the 6th of September 2017 and aired every Wednesday and Thursday. The show follows the story of a young, educated woman named Zara, who was in love with her fiancé Sarmad. While Zara is a steadily earning member of the family, Sarmad is still looking for a job that will earn him fast and more money. So he decides to go abroad, and Zara takes a loan from her workplace to help him. But the thought of him going so far away from her made Zara insecure, so they got married before he flew off to Italy.

However, Sarmad meets a girl there who falls in love with him and they get married. When Sarmad brings his second wife home, she doesn’t get the same amount of love that Zara gets, no matter how hard she tries. She even tries to befriend Zara by cooking for her and asking her to spend quality time with her but to no avail. Zara keeps getting stressed about the things that are happening at home and talks about them to her coworker and friend Nasim. Nasim turns out to be a good support system and is there whenever she needs him.

However, Sarmad notices how close they are getting and threatens to divorce her, thinking that Zara and Nasim have a secret relationship. Around the same time, she gets fired from her job because of all the uninformed leaves she had taken because she was ill. The doctors then tell her that she is pregnant. Even though she is pregnant and without a job, Zara leaves Sarmad’s house and family because she could not take the disrespect that Sarmad had done to her. She went from one place to another, until finally, Nasim convinces her to move to his house, where he confesses that he has fallen in love with her, and wants her to marry him. But Zara’s divorce is still due and she does not want to marry anyone at all, because she does not want her child to have a stepfather.

At her new job, Zara finds a friend called Uzma, who tells her about how she left her husband who loved her very much because he could not be a father. Uzma now regrets her choice and wants to go back to him. After a little digging, Zara finds that Nasim’s previous wife had left him and he keeps her memories locked up in a room in his house. Putting two and two together, Zara realizes that Uzma, whose real name is Arnaz, was the wife that has left Nasim and plans to get them back together. But Nasim rejects her, saying that she had hurt him greatly and that he has now gotten over it and fallen in love with Zara.

Again and again, Nasim asks Zara to marry him, but she refuses. She gives birth to a beautiful baby boy and raises him in Nasim’s house. The baby called him uncle, but Nasim raised him as his own.
