The show Kohar covers the story of a girl named Afia. She comes from a conservative family; her father is strict and restricts her a lot. He raises her in a confined environment. She is tired of his distrustful behavior.

She gets depressed about this, then one day she meets a guy named Sabtain who seems nice and eventually she falls for him but he is actually her cousin who is in search of his mother Sitara . Both are unaware of this and he proposes to her but she declines it politely saying her father wouldn't accept their relationship. Her father realizes she is not like her mother who left her parents to be with Afia's father, he starts to trust Afia, and looking at his daughter being depressed he arranges her marriage with Sabtain without her knowledge, it ends up giving her the biggest surprise of her life on her wedding day.
