Ek Nazar Meri Taraf is an Urdu television series. The show deals with the subject of the right of Muslim widows to remarry. The concept was often disapproved of in Pakistani culture even if Islam provided that permission. The show is about a controversial subject which makes people rethink about the matter. The story is about Siffat who is 21 years old. She was married to Haider, but he passed away, which made her a widow. According to Islamic law, Siffat has the right to remarry after a four-month mourning period. However, Shamshad, Haider's mother, disagrees and wants Siffat to live in seclusion because she fears that remarrying will bring disgrace to her. Shamshad has 2 other sons.

Other characters are Babar Ali and his wife Mahnoor Baloch, who got divorced as Mahnoor Baloch got attracted towards Nauman Ejazansd and cheated on her husband. Babar Ali divorces her. Finally, Babar Ali and Sifat come into contact. After getting out of their miserable life, they both get married. The show depicts Siffat's struggle to choose her future life because of her societal and cultural norms. It highlights the conflict between rigid cultural attitudes that disapprove of widow remarriage and Islamic principles that grant autonomy to women.
