Aise Jalay Jiya is a 2013 Pakistani Urdu-language television drama series that aired on channel Hum TV. The story revolves around the life of a brutal lady, Aman, who puts her wishes above all. The drama deals with exposing how the selfishness of a man/woman can lead to the destruction of the lives of people around them. The plot is centered around the atrocities of the matriarch of a Pakistani family, Aman. Aman is a complicated woman who doesn’t make a single bit of a sacrifice for her kids’ lives. She has two children, Noreen and Danish. Both of them are married adults. When Noreen’s husband needs money to go and work abroad, Aman does not help them. She even creates misunderstandings between her son and her daughter-in-law’s relationship. She’s a highly materialistic woman and completely heartless. She even advises Danish to beat one of his wives, and being a ‘mama’s boy,’ he willingly does so. 

What happens to Aman? Would her children ever be able to revolt against her or keep living the life that they already are? The rest of the story deals with that.  The most beautiful part about the show is how it shows a lead female character who is at her most evil self. The complexities of Aman’s character were brilliantly presented by Samina Ahmad.
