Samayal Payanam is a Tamil TV show that aired on the channel Jaya TV from 24 February 2019, every Sunday from 8:30 am to 9 am. The show was directed by VinodKumar and produced by RK Productions. It was hosted by Meesha. Samayal Panayam was a travel and cooking show that featured the attractions of the Western Ghats. The host traveled to places such as Ooty, Coonoor, Kothagiri, Masanagudi, Gudelur, Valaparai, and Kodaikanal along with her team. She went from place to place on a bike, learning about the history of the place, its attractions, the customs and beliefs of the locals, and the variety of food. She gave a voice-over explaining what she learned about the place and the people. She cooks the local varieties of the food by explaining the procedure to the viewers in detail. Each episode featured a different tourist attraction and a different food item. The host also interacted with the locals and learned their stories. Travel shows and blogs have become increasingly popular in this decade. People have shown increased interest in learning about different places and different cultures. The shows make the virtual experience close to the reality to let the viewers enjoy at least a few minutes outside their busy schedules.
