Kitchen Super Star is a Tamil television show that can be categorized under cooking reality television. Cooking shows are a type of reality television shows in which popular and talented chefs prepare a particular dish and take the viewers through the whole process of cooking it. This helps the viewers in learning how to cook that dish. Now in cooking reality shows various talented participants are selected based on their culinary skills and are made to compete against one another in various rounds. Kitchen Superstar does exactly that. In the show, various individuals are selected based on the dish that they prepare in audition rounds.
The selected ones are then made to compete against one another in a game of one-upmanship. The show has been hosted by the Tamil actor Suresh and has been judged collectively by chefs Dr. Dhamu and Venkatesh Bhat. They give points on how perfectly made all the participant’s dishes are. The show got aired on television channel, Vijay TV on August 2, 2014, and has gotten various seasons, following the success of the show.
