Parasakthi as the name suggests is a serial of a girl with immense powers. Not supernatural powers, but spiritual ones that too of women. This serial is broadcast on the Vasanth Tv channel in the Tamil language. The female protagonist’s name is Shanti. She is introduced as a really powerful character as she is shown jumping in front of an unknown man to save him from a wild elephant without once thinking about her own safety. Shanti’s aura is such that the elephant retreats himself. Shanti has a family which comprises of her father, mother, and siblings. Her sister is a little stubborn and irresponsible. Shanti applies to a school for the job of a teacher. The principal taking the interview is immensely impressed by her answers and she is appointed.

On her way to the interview, she sees a girl Aishwarya standing out of her class as a punishment. She is pulled towards her for an unknown reason and is not able to stop herself from talking to her. Aishwarya has a dysfunctional family. Her father and mother fight a lot and are on the brink of getting a divorce. Aishwarya’s grandfather suffers from a heart attack on learning that his daughter in law is leaving the house. She is in grave need of moral support and guidance. This comes in the form of her teacher Shanti. Shanti would help her at every stage of her life. When she falls ill, Shanti’s the one to take her to the hospital. Aishwarya’s uncle has his eyes set upon Shanti. He would do anything to make her his. Despite the fact that this uncle already has a girlfriend who is borderline psychotic for him he still fancies Shanti. Shanti fights every odd and becomes the role model for Aishwarya. Aishwarya dreams of having a normal family. But this never comes true. Despite everything,

Shanti and Aishwarya are always helping each other. Shanti is able to manage both her personal and professional life. She is the one who can make her father’s anger subside. As a teacher, she is able to change Aishwarya’s life. Whether be it in the school or outside the school, Shanti is always around Aishwarya. Shanti is depicted as a true feminist. She is there for the people she loves. This is a family show with a very strong message. Shanti stands for what she believes is right. She is honest, truthful, and caring.
