Kanmani is a Tamil serial broadcast on the Sun TV channel. This serial was released on 22 October 2018. There are 536 episodes and a single season of this serial. This serial revolves around the love story of Kannan and Soundarya. Kannan is in love with Soundarya, his sister Vijayalakshimi’s daughter. But Soundarya has a boyfriend named Akash from her foreign study time in Russia. Soundarya consults Kannan to help her convince her parents to marry Akash. But Kannan misunderstands this and Soundarya gets engaged with him. On the wedding day, he realizes his mistake and leaves the wedding hall to let Soundarya marry Akash. 

He explains the situation, and now Soundarya and Akash’s wedding is finally happening. On the wedding day of Soundarya and Akash, his mother throws Kannan out of the wedding hall, suspecting him of eloping with his daughter-in-law. But Soundarya finds Kannan and brings him back to the wedding. Akash’s mother is furious, but Kannan convinces her of letting this marriage happen. Still, she blackmails Akash of dying if he refuses to break this wedding. Akash breaks the wedding. To get over her heartbreak from Akash, Soundarya starts working in the village with the help of Kannan. Soundarya is working at the Dairy Production Company, the same place Akash gets a job at. Akash tries talking with Soundarya but she refuses. A new family is introduced in this serial, who, get saved by Kannan when a thug tortures them.

The family comprises of two sisters, Muthuselvi and Thangaselvi and their farmer father Veeraiya. Muthuselvi falls in love with Kannan. Kannan gets engaged with him to prove the village. But Muthukelvi knows that he loves Soundarya and calls off the wedding after loads of drama. Kannan’s wedding again gets fixed with Soundarya because of some misunderstanding and politics. Akash’s wedding gets fixed with Valarmathi. So these couples get married despite all the difficulties. But Valarmathi and Akash experience problems in their married life. After some fight, Valarmathi tries to kill herself. Her behavior keeps on becoming crazy and Akash has to leave her. Soundarya gets Malarselvi to be her child’s surrogate mother as she would not get pregnant because of a miscarriage. In the end, both Soundarya and Muthuselvi get pregnant after Akash comes to know about this surrogacy. Soundarya hid this from everybody.
