The series revolves around the days before Deepavali. The first family includes a young mother, Sushila, who has three children, Jaanu, Chitu, and Balu. Sushila’s husband has passed away, and she has been taking care of her children singlehandedly. Sushila does not earn much. She has not paid the rent of her house for many months. Her landlord warns her for the last time.

The children realize they will not be able to celebrate the festival due to a money crunch. In the other part of the series, a wife discovers her husband’s affair with a young woman, Vani. However, Sushila wants him to celebrate Deepavali with their daughter, Kaviya, but he refuses. Kaviya is sad and disappointed by this. In another scene, an old man, Mr. Rajan is crying while talking to a doctor. The doctor delivers bad news about his wife, Radha. Radha is suffering from Bulbar Palsy, which has no cure. She will soon lose her speaking ability and muscle strength. She has few days to live. Rajan is distraught but accepts the harsh reality.

Radha knows she will not live for long. She wishes to meet her children one last time. They have not met their children for many years after they had a huge quarrel. Rajan decides to make this Deepavali the best memory of her life by honoring her wishes. All the families are facing adversities during the times of festivals. Every family faces a different problem. It dampens their spirit of festivals. Miraculously, all the families get help indirectly from a stranger. The stranger acts as a Dheivathai or an angel for them. He is a godsend help to these families. He teaches them the true value of life and festivals. He educates them that sharing, spreading love, and kindness is the real meaning of festivals. He teaches the true meaning of Deepavali, which does not require money at all, just humanity and positivity.
