It is a serial that promotes religious stories from well-known mythologies. The serial considers the stories from Shiva Purana, Devi-Bhagavata Purana, Markandeya Purana, and folktales about the Goddess. Devi takes the serial through the different forms of the Goddess of the Universe—the incarnations of the Goddess Sati and Goddess Parvati. Later, the story takes us through the journey of the Goddess as she takes different forms on the world to sustain the world on the ideals of truth, honesty, and trust. Devi is an excellent source of entertainment. It provides information about the Hindu culture while entertaining the viewers.

The story begins with Lord Shiva questioning his existence and searching for the answer. Later, he realizes that Devi Adi Parashakti created him, Lord Brahma, and Lord Vishnu. To fight against Lord Brahma's arrogance, he beheads his fifth head. Devi Adi Parashakti emerges from the beheaded body and explains the importance of her creation to the Tridevas- Lord Brahma (the creator of the world), Lord Vishnu (the protector of the world), and Lord Shiva (the destroyer of the world). Devi Adi Parashakti emerges as the Supreme Goddess who created the three Gods. She then assumes three avatars of female Goddesses. Lord Brahma is married to Goddess Saraswati, Lord Vishnu is married to Goddess Laxmi, and Goddess Shakti is Lord Shiva's beloved female. The story progresses by explaining the sacrifice of Devi Sati. Initially, the serial is based on Devi Mahatmya, Devi-Bhagavata Purana, Shiva Purana, and Srimad Bhagavata Purana.
