The central character who is none other than Gayatri Deshmukh is brave, adventurous and charismatic which adds to the overall plot of the serial. She is portrayed as a successful and renowned advocate with a strong will to eradicate all forms of social injustice and change the attitude of the entire society towards people in general. Another key character in the serial goes by the name of Vikram Sinha, a headstrong RTD Col staying at Khandala, enjoying his retired life. Both of these key characters have a special bond equivalent to that between a father and a daughter. However, good luck always runs out and the most successful and loved people can find themselves in utter desolation. Our Gayatri is no exception to this situation when she loses Vikram Sinha - her only father figure, to cancer. Days become rough for her and one fine day after winning a troublesome case she discovers some letters written previously by Vikram for her. It is upon reading these letters her life takes an unexpected and sudden turn, for what the letters reveal shatters her completely. It is revealed that Vikram was not her real father which leaves a devastated Gayatri in stunned silence. However, only days later she becomes adamant to find out her real father and discover her real identity.

It is in these circumstances that she comes across another lady who goes by the name of Devki. Devki is portrayed to have the answers to all the questions that Gayatri has and hence the fight to search for the missing pieces continues.
