The serial follows the storyline of the Kurukshetra war, which was the main reason for conflict of the Mahabharata, happened between Pandavas and Kauravas and their supporters. The serial also explores the complex relationships between the brothers of pandavas and kauravas and the problems they face. This serial was a commercial success and was praised for its high production values. This series was a decent adaptation of the Mahabharata with the strong performances of the artists.
