The series is a comedy-drama set in the city of Bhopal, which follows the life story of the Chandel family. The family gets together after a long time for Diwali, but unlike previous years, everything is different now. It is a heartwarming story of Raman, Ranjan, and other siblings who have lost their father at the time of lockdown, and none of them could make his funeral.

Therefore, when they are all together under one roof, their troubling past and unresolved conflicts add drama to the series. As the name suggests -Sutliyan: threads that bind us together but are somewhat thin to show how their family is tied, yet we see unspooling and unraveling at the same time.
