The story revolves around Masaba. She, her friends, and her family are shocked due to an unpleasant rumor about her rocky married life. This rumor also landed on a page of a newspaper. Hence, she and her husband, Vinay, attend an award function to hush everyone. However, the couple is divorcing each other, and Masaba makes it public via Instagram after the insistence of Vinay. 

Now, Masaba moves in with her mother, Neena Gupta, and realizes nothing will be good. She begins struggling in her professional life amid her chaotic life consisting of her emotional state after the separation from her ex-husband, the interferences of her mother, and unwanted social scrutiny. So, she moves out to work in peace for her new collection. However, the new collection Hot Mess, based on her life, becomes a disaster. Masaba’s therapist points out that her survival instincts are high, and she always runs away from her problems instead of facing them.

Taking the advice of her therapist, Masaba sets out to correct everything in her life. First, she decides to face her furious investors and then plans to relaunch her collections. Due to all the onstage drama, nobody focused on the dresses. She modeled her dresses through her employees, emphasizing that “Hot Mess” celebrates imperfections. Next, she meets Vinay to sell off their house and properly end their relationship. She also meets her primary investor, Mr. Rana, to apologize for all the failed shows. He informs that her posts regarding the relaunch of her collection got a very positive response from the industry. Masaba breaks down in tears for doing something right after a long time. Mr. Rana comforts her and apologizes for not believing in her at first. This interaction results in a romantic liking between the duo.

Masaba launches another collection, but sadly, everyone leaves her show to watch a wannabe influencer/designer’s, Qayannat’s, collection. Masaba tries to take a pregnancy test, and her mother catches her before that. Neena got furious at her daughter for having sex with so many men. Eventually, the test turns out negative. Masaba points out to her mother that she needs her support rather than her lecture, further straining the mother-daughter relationship. 

Furthermore, to climb up in her profession, Masaba plans to launch House of Shadi to design wedding attires. However, she finds herself tangled in a weird relationship with the groom. On the other hand, she also shows interest in Mr. Rana, who is confused about her intentions towards him. In the end, Masaba successfully launches the House of Shadi. She also gets the grand finale of “Fashion Week” while mazing through her relationship with the two men, finally settling for the best choice.
