Through this series, actress Raveena Tandon entered the world of OTTs. Aranyak follows two morally upright police officers of a picturesque fictional town, Sironah, in Himachal Pradesh, trying to work on a mysterious case. Angad (Parambrat Chatterjee) is a city-bred sophisticated police officer, and Kasturi (Raveena Tandon) is a native and friendly police-woman who knows the people, places, and core of the small town like the back of her hand. The duo has to work together to solve a puzzling case of a tourist’s rape and murder. However, the father-in-law of Kasturi, an ex-cop, inserts himself into the investigation, much to the annoyance of Angad.

Kasturi Dogra is in charge of the police station of Sironah. Her daughter, Nutan, is studying in the 12th class and is going to prepare for the IIT entrance exam in a big city. Hence, Kasturi has opted for a year-long leave to help her daughter. Another police officer, Angad Malik, arrives to take charge in her place. After his arrival, a shocking incident happens in the generally peaceful town. The dead body of a French tourist, Amy, is found with claw marks hanging from a tree deep in the forest. Kasturi, who has been waiting for a big case her whole career, immediately joins the investigation. Angad is annoyed with her constant interference but cannot ignore her input. So, they started cooperating. 

The townspeople started connecting this murder with the legend of the leopard. In their opinion, a half-male and half-leopard creature hunts for young girls on full moon nights. Kasturi’s father-in-law, Mahadev (Ashutosh Rana), strongly believes in the legend. He is a retired head constable of Sinorah police station. The same case happened 19 years ago, and the killer killed many girls during his killing spree. According to Mahadev, he went deep into the forest to search for the creature and eventually found him. But he ran away after clawing him in the face. Since then, Mahadev has still been on the lookout, and the murder case became another chance to eliminate the creature. Hence, he inserts himself in the ongoing investigation.

Angad does not believe in myths and investigates the case with scientific facts and basis. The investigation resulted in the entry of many high-profile names in the suspects list. The State government minister Jagdamba’s son, Kanti, and DC’s son, Gagan, became the persons of interest for the murder. Furthermore, the restaurant and gift shop owner also got added to the list. However, the mystery intensifies when the lover of Nutan and a local guide, Bunty, confesses to the crime of rape and murder of Amy, which even the police find hard to believe. Navigating through many sub-plots, like political rivalry, drug trade network, local legend, young love, laid-back attitude of the small-town police department, etc., Aranyak reaches its epic climax, untangling all the tied knots. This edge-of-the-seat thriller never derails from its original plot and presents an intriguing masterpiece.
