Kalyani Health Program is one of the health shows which were created by Doordarshan. It is one of the longest-running programs featuring the health campaign in India. It is a weekly show that launched on May 30th; 2002, on World Anti-Tobacco Day. Since then, with the help of Prasar Bharati and Doordarshan, it has managed to run. It was telecasted in the 21 states in India. This show creates awareness about diseases like tuberculosis (TB), cancer, HIV/AIDS, malaria, iodine deficiency, and tobacco-related and water-borne diseases and helps to combat them.
 Initiatives taken by Kalyani towards HIV/AIDS are to break the social stigma and discrimination, which is very appreciative and contributing. Kalyani is a bridge between the government’s various health programs and the Indian community. It encourages people to take charge of their lives, to fight the diseases rather than bemoan them.
Due to the efforts of Kalyani, it has managed to create 2000 Kalyani clubs in both rural and semi-urban areas. It has more than 1 lakh members. Besides creating awareness, with the help of the health ministry, it also provides medicines for various diseases.
