Comedy Circus is highly popular Indian comedy reality show, broadcasted on Sony Entertainment Television. The first season’s tag line was named as ‘Jodi Jamegi, Public Hassegi’ and it was premiered on June 16, 2007 which runs for 13 weeks and was aired during Saturdays at 9:30 P.M. The show was made by Optimystix Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.

The concept of the show is the pairing of seven renowned stand-up comedians together with the most popular personalities in India and each should unleash humorous and entertaining gags among the audience. Every actor will undergo training with their laughing gurus and both of them will perform on a highly challenging stage and compete for the winning title. Participants of the first season includes Pakistani actor and popular Indian actor , who won the title; Hindi actor and comedy actor Vijay Ishwarlal Pawar (V.I.P) who won the first place, Urvasha Dholakia and stand-up comedian and actress won the second runner-up while and model , Kiran Karmakar and Sunil Sanwra, and renowned Indian actress (Ketki was replaced by actress, Manini De), and was all voted out. Indian television and film actress, hosted the show. and popular actor, were the judges of the first season and later, was also introduced to be one of the juries.

All the artists perform some rib-tickling and hilarious performance in front of the live studio audience and television viewers from around India. Each pair should also perform based on the thematic episode of the show every week, be it a fairy or a superman. Two weakest Jodis will be nominated every week by the juries and studio audience and another one will be voted out by the rest of the participants, until the day that the winning pair of the best stand-up comedians will be announced. This is to ensure that the audience will not just break their nerves in laughing but also to experience nail-biting suspense as they vote.

Comedy Circus 1 is a comedic show that needs lateral thinking, humor and creativeness to be able to make the audience laugh. It brings the best of the exciting world. Imagine soap opera personalities performing stand-up comedies paired with the best Indian and Pakistan stand-up talents and battle together in one show.
